About the Artist
"I am a visual storyteller.
Color is my instrument to evoke passion, peace, a sense of identity, and joy."
I believe there’s something about art that sneaks past defenses, shifts perspectives and opens the mind to new ideas. Without asking, art reaches right in and touches the soul, awakening emotions that are deep beneath the surface. Somehow, just by seeing a painting the heart is opened, and an exchange occurs. Art speaks. Moods change. Atmospheres shift. A message is communicated, yet there is no need for words. Color carries meaning and is a language all its own.
"As my fingers touch the canvas to create vivid textures, I envision my paintings touching the heart of the viewer, leaving indelible prints on their soul."
I am a visual storyteller. I use color as an instrument to evoke passion, peace, a sense of identity, and joy. My art is inspired by my dialogue with nature, showing the beauty of creation reflecting its Creator. Each painting invites you as the viewer to join this endless conversation. Often as I paint, words in the form of songs, poetry, prayers, and spontaneous expressions flow from within me onto the canvas. These words have a tangible presence that even if not understood, they are deeply felt.
As my fingers touch the canvas to create vivid textures, I envision my paintings touching the heart of the viewer, leaving indelible prints on their soul. I paint with my fingers and brushes because I love the freedom this brings to the creative process. Finger painting transports me back to when I was a child and it was okay to color outside the lines. I incorporate finger painting in most of my paintings, even when I use brushes for some areas. This method has allowed my art to become increasingly abstract, giving way to more intuitive expressions.
I make art because I believe it has the power to heal. Amidst times of uncertainty and brokenness, my art emanates light, revealing rays of hope. I aspire to create paintings that pull the future into the now, and cause the viewer to consider the possibilities of what could be. Through each painting, a message of beauty and freedom is released -- a colorful escape from the gravity of everyday life. I invite the viewer to listen with their eyes and receive with their heart.

ARTIST BIO:
Marguerite Anglin is a self taught artist based in Philadelphia, PA. Trained as an architect, she realized she had a talent for painting when she stepped out in faith to try something new. Inspired by the view from her apartment window one day, she attempted to paint the sun shining through a cloudy sky. That day an artist was born. Although she had never painted in front of anyone before, she felt led to take her easel and brushes on the road. She created most of her early paintings live, in front of public gatherings at church, worship or conference settings.
During a season where she had taken a break from painting, what Marguerite thought would be just a couple months of downtime turned into nearly two years of "artist's block". After seeing an online video of an artist using brushes in both hands as if they were extensions of her fingers, Marguerite was captivated by the idea of using just her own hands and fingers to paint. She decided to try finger painting.... Her creative juices began flowing once again... and she was hooked.
Marguerite now prefers painting with both fingers and brushes, and her work has become even more meaningful. She creates sky inspired paintings that emanate light and evoke a sense of wonder, hope and soaring freedom. Her work is both spiritual and inspired by nature, showing the beauty of creation reflecting its Creator. Her recent finger painting collection called "Above the Clouds," is a series of atmospheric, abstract paintings that prove even the clouds have stories to tell.
In addition to painting, Marguerite has a passion to unlock creativity in others and help people find what inspires them. She hosts workshops and social painting events that encourage participants to return to their first love- Creativity!
